Imagine, back to the 80s or 90s, having traditional charcoal grilled kaya toast, half boiled eggs, and kopi gu yu (Coffee with Butter) surrounded with Old school Cabinets, Rustic Walls, Antique Tables and Singapore Old Public Coin Phone, this is perhaps one the oldest coffee house in Singapore that preserved it's history.
This is the man, Mr Shi, the iconic guy in this coffee shop.
Their Breads are toasted over charcoal over fire that give a crisp exterior, spread with kaya jam and sandwich with thick slabs of butter.
Complete your breakfast experience with two runny half boiled eggs and Coffee or Tea. I didn't order their kopi gu yu as I tried once and not really my type but if you have not try it before, no harm ordering a cup to experience it.
Try this. Do like the local to dip the toast bread with the half boiled egg with a dash of dark soy sauce and white pepper.
Within the Heap Seng Leong Coffeeshop also serve very nice curry puff!
