Peony Jade - Mid Autumn Festival Mooncakes

The Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 is held on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. This day is also known as the Moon Festival as the moon is the roundest among any day in the year. It falls on the 27 September 2015 this year which is a Sunday. As it's not a public holiday for this festival in Singapore, it happened on the right day that everyone can celebrate this festival with their family and friends for 1 full day.

Mooncake 月饼 is traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival and each year, different bakery and restaurants in Singapore will roll out different kinds of Mooncakes estimated 1 to 2 month ahead in celebration of this festival. 

This year, beside Peony Jade Restaurant's well known Award Winning Teochew Orh Ni Mooncake, they had also launched a few new Fruity Snowskin Flavours which I will introduce shortly.

My first impression when I got this is "I love the boxes". Beautiful colour combination, traditional design yet not out of fashion. 

49 Seats - Original Main Outlet

49 Seats has total 3 outlets in Singapore as of now but only this Original Main Outlet located at 49 Kreta Ayer Road operate from 6pm till late night. If you plans to go for Lunch or Brunch, visit their Orchard Central or Bugis outlets. Come here only after 6pm to avoid disappointment. Check out their operating hours at the bottom of this Blog. 

23 Jumpin @ 1 Irving Place

23 Jumpin specialised in Coffee and Brunch is located just within walking distance from Tai Seng MRT station (Exit A). Most people know this as an industrial area but there is a transformation recently with several restaurants and cafes popping up in this area.  

At first, I thought this is just another scooter parked along the road side right outside the cafe but when I am taking a photo of this cafe, I realized a "23" marked on the scooter. Do you think it's a coincident? Obviously, this should belongs to the owner of 23 Jumpin.
